DISCUSSION 11 Chapter 11 : Describe four trends in organizational design that were mentioned in our textbook, and explain how they relate altogether (Nguyễn Thị Kỳ Duyên)



There are four trends in organizational design :

1/ Fewer level of management

There are two types : 

- The first is shortening the chains of command.  Organizational charts are frequently used in businesses to show the chain of command, or the line of authority connecting each job to higher levels of management. Organizations tend to get taller as they get bigger, which increases the number of layers of management in the chain of command. As a result, a slowmoving and bureaucratic structure that impedes flexibility and decision-making may be created.
