We are delighted to introduce the proceedings of the 8th European Alliance for Innovation ( EAI) International Conference on Industrial Networks and Intelligent Systems (INISCOM 2022). This conference brought together researchers, developers, and practitioners from around the world who are leveraging and developing industrial

networks and intelligent systems. The f ocus of INISCOM 2022 was t he state of t he art i n all areas of AI and 6G convergence in terms of models, technologies, and applications.

The t echnical program of INISCOM 2022 consisted of 19 f ull papers i n oral presentation s essions at the main conference tracks. There were f our conference tracks:

Track1–Tel ecommunications Systems andNetworks;Track2–InformationProcessing and Data Analysis; Track 3 – Industrial Networks and Intelligent Systems; and Tr ack 4 – Security and Privacy. Aside f rom t he high-quality technical paper presentations, the t echnical program also featured a keynote s peech about “Communications in the 6G Era” given by Harish Viswanathan, Head of the Radio Systems Research Group at Nokia Bell Labs, USA.

Coordination with the s teering chairs, Imrich Chlamtac and Tr ung Q. Duong, was essential f or the s uccess of t he conference. We sincerely appreciate t heir constant support and guidance. It was also a great pleasure t o work with such an excellent Organizing Committee t eam and we thank them for t heir hard work i n organizing and supporting the conference. Particular thanks go to the Technical Program Committee ( TPC), who completed the peer-review process f or the t echnical papers and put together a high-quality technical program. We are also grateful to the conference manager, Natasha Onofrei, for t he support and all t he authors who submitted t heir papers t o I NISCOM 2022.

We strongly believe that INISCOM provides a good forum f or all r esearchers, developers, and practitioners t o discuss all science and technology aspects t hat are relevant to industrial networks and intelligent systems. We also expect that the f uture editions of INISCOM will be as successful and stimulating as t his year’s conference, as indicated by the contributions presented in this volume
