FINAL PROJECTRMC301 - Research methods in Communication - Research on motivating factors and decisions touse online dating applications among students

Abstract:

Since the debut of online dating applications, the romantic experience has changed forever. First encounters are increasingly held in digital clouds, rather than heaven. Looking through profiles may cause a person's heart to race. The UTAUT2 model and privacy risk will be used to investigate the features that predict continuing use of online dating programs among young Vietnamese. The study model was tested using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling, which yielded 122 valid responses from Vietnamese online dating apps. The data indicate that the model has a strong predictive potential, with social impact, price value, and habit serving as important predictors of online dating app continuous use intention. Habit has the largest impact on the intention to continue using online dating services.

This study contributes to the body of knowledge on the behavioral intention of using online dating applications and provides practical advice for online dating service providers to increase the likelihood of continued adoption.
